Hello Kubla... :D I really like the Dr. Pulley sliders instead of the OEM roller weights. Have tried 19g and 17g myself. Just because it has a new belt on it doesn't mean it can't be the problem.

The battery may have been over-filled.
The regulator/rectifier may have just failed and sent too much voltage into the battery causing it to boil.
Test the voltage in the battery.
Report your findings... :ugeek:
