Re: Yamaha Riva XC180 shop manual

You're spoiled  It seems like only a few years ago that these manuals were almost impossible to get online. To answer your question though, the Riva 200 manual is only in english and these are basically the same machines (mostly just a larger bore cylinder), so for most work you could use t...

Re: Cam ball bearing failed, 1987 Honda CH150 Elite

Wow that's a serious failure! What was it like to be driving at the time? I have no expertise on pressing, so I'd keep looking for a complete unit. Sellers are parting out Elite 150's all the time on eBay. You could message a seller who is listing lots of engine parts and see if they have the cam av...

Re: Ruckus engine longevity

Hi Jeff, Did you read the Ruckus page on the main site? Basically it explains why you should avoid 2003 - 2005 models. Other than that, the Ruckus lasts a very long time. I had 20,000 miles on mine with no wear. I wouldn't be surprised if the engines are fine to 50 - 100k miles or longer. They proba...

Re: Redesigned MotorScooterGuide.net

Well it's been a month, but I finally got links to the forum and other stuff back on the homepage. It was a lot more work than expected, because the new website is mobile friendly so on small screens everything has to re-arrange correctly:

New BMW C400, Electric Vespa and Electric Honda PCX

Last night I published an article on the motorscooterguide.net homepage with all the scooter news from the Tokyo and Milan (EICMA) motorcycle shows. There's some pretty sweet new stuff coming, so check it out:

Re: New scooter guy!

eBay is your best bet. Save a search for whatever parts you're after and then it'll email you when something gets posted. You shouldn't have to wait too long for Elite 150 parts - they're pretty common.

Re: Honda Joker?

If you ever discover a scooter that was sold in the USA or Canada since 1981 by one of the brands covered on MSG but that model isn't on MSG, I'll buy you a beer

If you want bizarre projects, try to get your hands on a Honda Motocompo or Stream.

Re: New Honda scoot coming out.

Hmm....A PCX Electric. I really want someone to do a GOOD electric scooter. That means decent range, decent charge speed, decent top speed and decent price. I wrote about this a few years ago in an article on the main site: http://motorscooterguide.net/Articles/electric/the-future-could-be-electric....

Re: Honda Joker?

Yeah the Joker's are sweet. I'm pretty sure they were never offered in North America, which is why MSG site doesn't cover it.

Yeah the Aprilia Mojito is very similar. It's the closest North American's have gotten.

Re: Redesigned MotorScooterGuide.net

Thanks Tiny! Yeah I want to add some key links to that black stripe across the top (forums, downloads, articles) like it was before. The challenge is that it needs to work, even if the window is narrow (like on a mobile phone) and I'm pretty over my head on doing that (all the other adjustable width...

Wow I missed this until I was at CMG recently and notice the Trader name. Glad to hear CMG lives on.

Redesigned MotorScooterGuide.net

Hey Scooterists, I've been working on updating the main MotorScooterGuide.net website to something more modern (i.e. mobile friendly). I just launched the redesigned webpage this evening, so if you have the chance, let me know what you think and if you have any requests/suggestions. Main advantages ...

That's awesome! Nice job. It looks just like a real 80's ad from Honda.

Re: CMG Magazine Courtney is looking to handover the business to the right person

Yeah what a legendary publication. Hopefully they can find someone to hand over the reigns. Maybe one of the long time authors (Costa? Mr. Richardson?) will be interested?
