Hmm....A PCX Electric.

I really want someone to do a GOOD electric scooter. That means decent range, decent charge speed, decent top speed and decent price. I wrote about this a few years ago in an article on the main site:

The details on this new PCX seem to be lacking, but the emphasis on battery swapping is misguided IMO. I want a scooter where I own the battery and can charge it fast (20 min). I don't want a slow charging battery that is depending on swap stations, as these will be too rare for a long time to come. Gogoro has been pushing for battery swapping in scooters to the point that they don't even let you charge your own scooter - you can only swap (last I've heard).

Hopefully Honda is serious about this. With electric car batteries down to $150/kWh now in cars (Chevy Bolt, Tesla 3) it wouldn't be hard to do an affordable scooter since 5kWh would be tons of battery and even 2-3 would be okay for a 50 - 80 mile range.

Honda will probably do a good job on it. I have built several electric bikes and my wife now has a 3 wheeler that I built for her. I once owned a EGO electric scooter. It was a 24 volt scooter with a step thru frame, had about a 20 to 25 mile range and a top speed of 18 mph in economy range and 25 in performance range. Range and price has always been the problem with electric scooters.
