Honda Joker?

Post by rivalutionist » Thu Nov 02, 2017 9:40 am

Has anyone ever seen this bike in America? Apparently it's called the SRX50/90 Shadow here in the states.

Dan, I bet if you did a review they'd be more likely to be sold on craigslist. Most Honda/Yamaha ads I see parrot back exactly what they read in your reviews when they are trying to sell an older scooter.

Nevermind after some more internet research it appears Wikipedia may have been wrong about them being sold in the US. Just cheaper clones I think. It's also nearly identical to an Aprilla Mojito. Still, maybe one day I'll get my hands on a real Honda 90cc two-stroke Joker....

I see a few ads for Newzeland. Some sweet custom ones. I would think it would do well in the US. I guess the 2 stroke engine killed the importing for Honda.

Yeah the Joker's are sweet. I'm pretty sure they were never offered in North America, which is why MSG site doesn't cover it.

Yeah the Aprilia Mojito is very similar. It's the closest North American's have gotten.

I should have known you'd know more than Wikipedia! I got a little over excited at the thought of discovering a cool new scoot.

Just gives me another project idea to keep on the back burner: If I ever come across a china clone with frame and body in good shape, I'll see if I can swap in the extra NH80 motor I have in my basement. Maybe not because it's vertical.

If you ever discover a scooter that was sold in the USA or Canada since 1981 by one of the brands covered on MSG but that model isn't on MSG, I'll buy you a beer

If you want bizarre projects, try to get your hands on a Honda Motocompo or Stream.

But you can also get it quickly on the websites of online vendors. In addition you will be able to find one of origin.
