'84 was the only year the Gyro looked like that in North America. For '85 and '86 Honda brought over the naked version instead which has much more of a dune buggy look. The '84 model is the only one that was sold in Canada. I prefer the '84 models but supposedly almost none were sold in '84 here in Canada so it's pretty much impossible to find one. I've never seen one for sale in Canada.

As far as I know, the Gyro was not sold in 1988. Honda sold the plastic bodied NN50 Gyro in the USA in 1984 and then they sold the naked 'RoadFox' Gryo in '85 and '86 and then that was it.
In the USA, the 85/6 model was known as the Gyro S. The Roadfox name was used for a very similar model Gyro in other countries.

Welcome to the site

Honda did use the RoadFox name in the USA too. It was on the left rear fender of the '85-'86 Gyro S models.

For the first time, I must disagree with you Dan. I have owned two Gyro S and known about 5 other owners. I also checked with the dealer on this and he said fewwy also. Where are you getting this info from? The sticker is no longer available but the honda code for the sticker on the left fender is 2064319. You can check it out if you want a pic that way. Even the pictures on your site show this Gyro S emblem.

Hmm....it seems that you are right and I am wrong. I looked at several USA market Gyro's and they do indeed all show the Gyro S decal on both rear fenders. I'm not sure what info I was looking at when I wrote that the RoadFox decal was used because I wrote that about 1.5 years ago. I know I have seen these scooter with the RoadFox decal on the left rear fender but those must have been examples from other countries. Thanks for the correction. I will update the main site in the next few days.

I know they had those in Japan, check out the front fender on those too. It is much better than what they shipped to us here in the US.

Hi Dan and fellow scooter guys, I am the guy that bought the scooter 1984 Honda Gyro Red in Colorado for $2651. It is legit . As soon as I got it home I have spent the last 2 months totally breaking it down to every single nut and bolt and am almost finished building it back as of tonight. I am the general manager of a dealership and have doing motorcycles for 34 years and owned an original 1984 Gyro when on college. I now have 3 miles on it and YES I intend on riding it on PERFECT sunny days. If anyone knows or sees another mint one please inform me. I actually bid $4000.00 for the Gyro but only needed the $2651 to get it...and yes...i drove all the way out there to personally load it and bring it home in a minivan so as not to be exposed to any weather. The little Gyro now sits in my climate controlled carpeted garage. Na d yes, I am a scooter fanatic also !!!!

great site guys,
Shabbabear
