 Post subject: trans oil change?

Can someone tell me what oil to use in my trans.I thought it said 10w-30 somewhere but dont remember.Also if it is 10-30 can I use syn. oil or will that hurt anything?It says 0.7L so im assuming that means 3/4 of a liter right?

Yup, synthetic oil is fine. Yeah 0.7L would be almost 3/4 of a litre but measure careful to get as close to 0.7L as you can. I like to measure in a clear pyrex measuring cup and then I use either a syringe or a funnel to get it in the scooter. Don't spill any or your measurement will be nullified. If you spill a lot just drain it and start over. It's better to waste some oil than to have the level wrong. Just call that mishap a flush.

One tip is to take the scoot for a short ride before you drain the old stuff. The oil heats up quickly and it drains much better when it's hot. This is especially true for Honda's which use a thicker gear oil than Yamaha's.
