I Have a Question
It's been noted that the Aprilia SR-50 and Piaggio Typhoon 50 are the same scooter. What engine do they have? The Piaggio Fly 50 has a four valve Vespa motor but costs more than the other two which would tell me that they have a different power plant.

Re: New scooter, so lost
www.partsforscooter.com Look at the lower right side of the engine. 157QMJ or 1P57QMJ means it's a 150cc. 139QMD or 1P39QMD means it's a 50cc. Parts for Chinese scooters are plentiful. Look at online sellers like www.powersportsmax.com or www.superiorpowersports.com for models that look alike to you...

Re: Advice needed
Go back to the 842 belt. The shorter belt won't go all the way to the top of your variatior and you lose some top speed.

I'll go with a stuck float in the carburetor dumping raw gas through the engine.

Re: Tao Tao Quantum 150 issues
I have only had this scoot for about 3 weeks so I called the dealer were I bought it from which is out of State So the scooter came from an online seller. When you buy that way you become the shop, mechanic and customer. This sounds like a problem that requires careful examination. It could be anyth...

Bintelli Scooter Does The Job

He set out from Michigan and rode a 50cc Bintelli Scorch to Key West. Four thousand miles on a three cubic inch engine. Not bad.

A 50cc taken out to 100cc, no fan shroud and he's mystified? It must be because all Chinese scooters are junk and poor owners are blameless.

Re: the best chinese scooter?
My point is only this. Someone blew up an expensive 2T scooter from a known manufacturer. Imagine the carnage if she bought an online scooter? I've had decent usage from my Chinese scooters. The difference is that I have years of experience and care for my stuff. I have a hard time believing in spot...

Re: the best chinese scooter?
And it gets better. I took the Kymco to a local snowmobile/ATV/Lawn Tractor/Small engine repair place to be worked on with cheap hourly shop rates. My bill for the new piston/barrel and stator installation? A mere $665. So that Brand Name scooter that is so much better than Chinese is now up to abou...

Re: the best chinese scooter?
I just found this thread after being away a long time. Let me tell you my experience with "Brand Name". A few months ago I bought a 2010 Kymco Like 50, with 2000 miles on it to flip, for $300. The young lady selling it said it just quit one day and she was told it was an electrical problem. Yeah, Ri...

Re: Genuine Scooters
Have the valves been adjusted? Has it had the 500 mile service? What do you mean " you hit the start button and nothing happens."???? Do you mean it doesn't turn over or start running? Scooters don't just suddenly go to Heck. How did this problem start?

Re: My 2001 reflex scooter, turns on but it doesn't crank.
I assume you mean the starter isn't spinning when you hit the button? On Hondas there's a switch in the left brake handle that acts as an interlock. This way your back wheel doesn't drive forward by accident. The best way to test is to jump the switch or find the solenoid and jump across the poles t...
