Re: 84 Honda Aero 125 won't start

The float is set wrong or stuck open. Pull the carb again and follow carb clean and adjusting in the manual.

Re: Aero 125 hard starting. Bystarter options?

Pull the carb and it is simple, beside you can clean the carb again while it is off the scooter. I mean two bolts and it is off.

You do know you can remove the bystarter and connect it to a battery and test it?

Re: Aero 125 hard starting. Bystarter options?

That bike is not at the house but the spring was moved so that the valve was closed all the time except when you pulled on the string sticking out of the top of the bystarter. I will get a picture when I get out to mt nephews place.

Here is a US one. It is used and rough but it is salvageable.

Re: Aero 125 hard starting. Bystarter options?

The chances of the reeds causing hard starting are really low unless you have a really rough idle and a hard transission phase to high speed.

Re: Aero 125 hard starting. Bystarter options?

No, the slow jet should be fine, the main may handle on step richer. My Aero 80 need a richer jet in the main. None of my 125's is running right now, but I am trying to work on them.

The plunger should extend when power is applied, not retract.

Re: Aero 125 hard starting. Bystarter options?

You will have no power to the bystarter except when the engine is running. It comes from the alternator (stator) and is less than 12 volts.
