need assistance installing spy 5000m alarm

Post by steelman »

hello all. new member.

looking to install the alarm. my 2012 3burgman 400 has an immobilizer built in.
in the brain connection harness I have the following wires.

1 Red->: Positive to battery
2 Black->: Negative to battery
3 Yellow (2 wire L/R) ->: Rear turn signals one for each
4 Brown->: +12V Accessory (ACC)
5 Pink->: Remote engine Cut Off
6 Gray->: Remote engine Cut Off
7 Blue->: Remote engine Start On

the alarm has an option to start the bike from the remote which doesnt interest me. so the blue wire isnt neceassary. am I also correct that I dont need to install the pink and gray cables if I dont need the immobilizer?

basically I need to hookup wires 1 2 3 and 4 ?

I in all honesty wouldn't even bother with an alarm if it already comes with an engine immobilizer. but if you really want it installed find a shop that installs them on motorcycles and have it done properly because you dont want to mess up the wiring harness on a Burgman

thank you for the reply
I understand you have an opinion regarding the install and me having an immobilizer to not warrant an alarm. but the alarm does more than just immobilize. it has a perimeter sensor and it has a tamper feature to alert me someone is touching the bike. the remote is also a beeper to alert me. the immobilizer does only so much I want to know when my scooter is parked out of sight that im warned cand can act if someone would touch it.

to install something like this is not something complex. I do maintenance on my scooter but an alarm for a few wires is not complex to warrant a shop install.

can you help me on my concern of the wires?
