$2000 increas in price since 2018?

Hey, I've been looking at the kymco xtown (I want a nice maxi with good MPG that's on the cheaper side. Would prefer used but its summer so the market has all dried up.) and have been calling dealers around the pacific northwest in the USA. Multiple sites list the 2018 xtown as around $4k which is just within my budget if I get financing. The dealers want to sell me a 2019 for $6k. Is it because its summer and everyone wants a bike now? Did the price go up 2 grand in one year? Do they just expect you will talk the price down? Stealerships? Thanks so much!
