Mad Bastered 2013 news

Post by GVH »

just Got this email: We need a newer them costume ideas this time.

We’re already starting to get inquires about the 2013 MBSR so we thought it was about time we revealed the date and location (drum roll please):
Fortunately in 2013 the summer solstice lands right on the weekend and so we’re going to have maximum light for the ride on the weekend of the 21/22/23 of June.
As for location. we did try to move it to Kingston but failed to find the perfect hotel so we’re heading back to Belleville and the Travelodge hotel, which is the same location for the 2007 rally, only it’s changed its name and been smartened up.
Since there is a lot of interest in the event and only 99 spots we’re going to stagger the registration by class, one week apart so that the 50 cc scooters in straitjacket class get first bite to register – which seems fair as they are the maddest bastards.
I cannot see it being a problem to get a slot for the smaller classes but it maybe for the maxi scoots. Traditionally we open registration on April 1st, but may bring that forward so that you know for sure that you’re in and can prep accordingly.
The new 2013 website will be launched in January 2013, but you can still register for the MBSR mailing list on the current site to ensure that you get notice of any news updates (like this one for instance).
Looking forward to the biggest and maddest MBSR to date. Get your mad bastardness on!

Wife got her M license to ride my 150cc, so after her getting it (M2 for now) I managed to talk her into being my team mate for the Mad Bastard.
It also helps that it will be our anniversary that weekend and its my year to plan it. So score one for the crazy husbands out there.

Well it is Bomanville,That is where I ran a low rider designed, bored out ruck(82 km per hr average!) that blew 1/2 way and nursed it back to come in 2nd! :!:(an amazing story in its self) The 1st year as the go-go boys showed up as escaped cons in black and white inmate suits and matching clothes down to underwear and socks 8-)(still have of some mine)Maybe we could go(that have a ruck) back as all low rider rucks as an anniversary thing? You do go faster cutting the wind so much being so low to the ground? I do still have those parts around to copy(they are bolt on in design to a factory ruck),but the seat needs the angle changed so you do not slide forward off the seat so much as my proto type did. I do love our go-go boy Quadrafina coats as our get up too, so I am torn this year. What do yeah think boys and girls for this rally?

Go- Go Boy disposable suits painted up as inmates with name and # we wore in our 1st rally would be retro cool, but also think a Go-Go Zombie would be cool too? I guess it is kinda time to put a bit of a plan together? I hope to see Dan over x-mas soon (been a while bro!!) and put something together? Ok, now I am a bit Mad, much-much more too come, (OOH- haaaaaaa, haaa, haa(evil voice) I am putting out an offer for any help or Ideas to anyone else interested in being part of our little scooter gang to go to this charity rally for 2013! Cheers!! everyone

The new 2013 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally website has been launched.

As we expand the rallies that CMG offers to include the Dusk Till Dawn event, the MBSR site is now included into a new CMG Rallies site. The MBSR site gives you all the details you need for the 2013 event save for registration, which will be launched next month.

If you're itching to get your madness on, go to madbastardrally.com.

See you in June
