I just bought this scooter and I'm happy with it, but it's slow on the take off and tops out at 55 mph. When I slow to 5mph I can hear a slapping noise from the belt/clutch/variator area.
Any ideas?

Time to take it apart and check the drive belt.

Thanks, I'll take off the belt drive and have a look. I heard I'll need an impact driver to take off the variator and clutch right?

Thanks, I'll take off the belt drive cover and have a look. I heard I'll need an impact driver to take off the variator and clutch right? The guy that I bought it from says he just replaced the belt so I'm expecting something else causing belt issues but ya never know.

The only way to find out is to open it up and look. I have no idea what tools you will need. Take the cover off the variator housing first and look.
